Well, the days are winding down, and the choices are few. I think it it pretty bad when folks don't care enough to vote but have the gall to complain about the way things are or the like. Americans have a wonderful country and we should learn to appreciate what we have. I have been to third world countries and they all look to us as the standard of what they want to be. Why do you think so many people want to come here. Our system may not be perfect but it is a heck of a lot better than many, no most of the world. If I wanted to live in a socialistic state where the government provided my healthcare and daycare and a small pension, I would probably move to Denmark. Alas, outside of Lego's what else are they famous for. Oh yes, nude ballet, and the little mermaid. I am not slamming on Denmark, it is a fine country, I have lived there. I just don't see it growing in the same way America has. We have captains of industry, technology, and great medical breakthroughs. We have hollywood( even though a lot of hollywood is far left reaching.) We have more great things that have come and gone than most of the third world put together. Don't put all that down, for a lame hope of change that will penalize the hard working American that has finally made something for himself because someone else who doesn't work as hard believes it isn't "Fair". I work 2 jobs and my wife works too. It takes all of that to make our household function and allow for opportunities to go to school to eventually open those doors that are currently closed. I sure would hate it if I finally got through one of those doors and suceeded after nearly fifty years of struggling to make it, only to have someone else arbitrarily decide that I must be rich, so now I will have my tax burden increased to help pay for those people that don't work( because they are too lazy or inept, to try and make it. ) Life is hard and no-one said it is supposed to be fair. You have to work at making it work. My father raised me to believe that if anything was worth doing it was worth doing your best. He also made me realize that nothing in life was free, everyone works for his share, the harder you work the greater the reward. America used to believe that as well. remember that when you go to the polls. God Bless America.

I don't think it is hot air...

Whoa..!!! I am not sure I like this. I struggle to continue to better myself, but if I finally make it to where I think I am doing well, what then? This redistrubution of wealth thing has me worried. Is it Socialism? I hope he doesn't think he can bring about Utopia by shuffling our dollars around. http://hotair.com/archives/2008/10/27/smells-like-socialist-spirit/ This should worry you as well. It doesn't matter what color you are or where you live.

Changes in the near future...

Boy, I am getting ancee ( antsy??) I don't make a whole lot of money but I remember paying more taxes in the past and not seeing a lot of return in government. I don't believe taxes are the answer. In fact I believe there should be a major overhaul and audit of how our tax dollars are being spent. There is probably a grand amount being spent on tripe. It will never be under control if this can't be done. Taxes and the economy are not the only things to think about this election. Watch the following and vote your conscience. http://www.valuevotersusa.com/high_res.php

On a positive note

In light of the current market ... scared me I looked at my portfolio today... :( but on a positve note I saw gas at $2.69 today. Much better ... What really bothers me though is that some sheik can say hey...we are going to cut production and "BAM" America bends over. We need our own sources...quickly I might add. or some other means... LP, Electrical, something anyway. but I am glad to see gas is back into something reasonable ( relatively)

History repeats

I knew history always repeated itself, but it is scary... ( see http://www.cnbc.com/id/21016815/ ) I would think we try to learn from history to keep the bad from repeating itself. Just watching the market is scary business...who needs halloween?

I never knew that...

Today I googled the letter "b" and I found out that the common plug and recepticle I use daily is called a type "b" plug and recepticle. Wow... I never knew that. Learn something new everyday. :)

I googled 310

Just for grins I googled a random number...310... I thought I might see old Datsuns or Cessna's or maybe some technical electronic stuff...but a whole lot of junk popped up, but I thought these were cool. I like to do the same thing on YouTube as well. Just pick a random thought or word and search. Some really cool stuff comes up. You might have to sift through some junk too, but there are usually some gems to be had.

Nested in the heather...

I have to rant...our "beloved community association" has complained that I have an inappropriate sign in my yard. The sign says McCain/Palin. I had it neatly nested near the heather in our front garden. I don't believe it has so musch do do with the fact it is a sign, because if I had a gnome or such holding out a sign like Keep America Beautiful or Welcome it woouldn't be looked at in a negative fashion...but since it happens to be of a candidate that they dont endorse during our election period they have to complain. If I don't remove it I could be fined. I wonder how that plays out against the first ammendment. I am getting to the point where I wonder what does my community association actually do for me beside collect money? If they are worried about property values..then I would think all of the "for Sale" signs should be removed. I wouldn't want to buy in a neighborhood that everyone else is leaving. hmm..more to come. I am thinking about letters to the editor too.

NewStickers

Well, It is 1 October...the year is fleeting. It is almost election time...I hate to retire my Fred sticker but I guess I will be covering it up with my new McCain/Palin stickers. Remember to pray for our leaders, and look at the issues and your values. While I am not a straight party Republican, I probably have voted Republican most of the time. I have conservative but trend toward Independent sometimes even Libertarian, but I believe this year I will be casting Republican. I find it disturbing that many people can simply discard some of their values because they don't like the other candidate or because it is convenient. I believe in our system and even when I was making far less and struggling I did not wish to see our country become socialized. I do believe though that there should be some form of oversight/ accountability for many businesses. I am not sure a totally pure capitalist arena is what we need at this time. If everyone was honest in their dealings with everyone else then perhaps. But as long as there are a few bad apples...
