Sorry, I haven't posted lately. My computer's motherboard fried and I was stuck with out a computer for a week. I learned I really should back up more often. I also learned that technology is advancing pretty quick. My other computer was only 5 years old , I thought it was pretty good Pentium 4 3.2mhz with 1 gb ram and 160gb hdd but it was XP and now I am having to run Vista. gotta learn it all over. NOT everything runs on Vista. I had to get all new drivers for my printers and monitors and who knows what else. I also found out that new computers do not come with AGP connectors ... so Now I have to get a new video graphics card that is PCI Express if I want to go back to using dual monitors. It is a real good thing I have already taken most of my computer classes for my degree. Now I know how to do this stuff. Otherwise I would be paying someone else. I do like my new computer though. It comes with 3gb RAM and is dual-core AMD. It is pretty swift. Same clock speed as my old one but the dual core makes all the difference. Now my games run better too. Oh, another thing I learned is that newer computers and older hard drives don't always go together. My older hard drive will not slave up to my new one because they are wired into the motherboard entirely differently. I had to figure out how to get my old info onto my new 500gb drive. .I took my external DVD Drive apart and hooked my old HDD into it and hooked it up to the new computer via USB...voila I could get to my old files. Think outside the box sometimes. Remember, your computer is only as smart as you are.
