I am now enrolled in a Business Ethics class. I feel it a worthwhile activity to invest in a little knowledge of how your company is viewed by the public and what your responsibilities should be. Not only because there are legal limits or political concerns but it is in most everyone's interest to do what is right. In today's society and corporate world it is imperative that social responsibility follow. My company Gulfstream has a very defined policy of what is considered ethical as well as many of the previous companies I have worked for. Today I am learning that even as a first line supervisor you can be view as a public affairs representative for your firm. Your actions speak louder than words many times so you need to not just say you know the policy but heed it as well.
