The things you find...

I went into work the other day and during break I went to the snack machine , but I wanted something other than the usual fare. Boy did I find it... never heard of this one before but there it was... the Nutjob ... it was a candy bar... sort of tasted like a flat Baby Ruth crossed with Snickers. I had never heard of it before. I was kind of worried especially in light of all the peanut and peanut butter recalls ... but I am still kickin. Didn't taste too bad either. So there it is have a Nutjob you nutjob...

Happy Birthday Condredge

When I was going to Jr. High School, one of my teachers was Condredge Holloway Sr., whose son Condredge Holloway Jr. played football for the University of Tennessee. It was because of him I became a Tennessee fan for a short time. He went on to play Pro in Canada before it was chic to do so. see wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Condredge_Holloway and was inducted into the Alabama sports Hall of Fame last year. Blart or Blart

Well, I wasn't sure I would enjoy it but it was funny. I gave my wife the choice to go see Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino... (the one I really wanted to see) ... or to go see Paul Blart; Mall Cop...she chose the latter. I found it to be a real side splitter, knee slapper( do people still talk like that?) I busted a gut laughing but I was embarrased I thought my wife was going to fall into the aisle she laughed so hard. It was pretty cool, thanks that there were only four other people in the theater with us. Here is the site for your enjoyment... http://www.paulblartmallcop.com/ enjoy. Oh it is Mall Cop not that other Blart...apparently there is a series of books for kids over in England named Blart...by a fellow named Dominic Barker... http://www.fantasticfiction.co.uk/b/dominic-barker/ I haven't read any of them, they looked cute though.

Another classic for the times

In a quest for economical and yet filling and beneficial foods I propose the following...TUNA... I realize not everyone is a fan of food from the sea, but there are health benefits to be had . I just won't list them all today. I just like it. roasted, grilled, on a salad and in a salad. So today it will be in Tuna salad. There are several varieties I like to use... http://www.bumblebee.com/ and http://www.starkist.com/ each has recipes available on their sites too. Have a splendid Tuna day.

old food for new times...

Well, with the current stae of trying to watch my dollars...I decided it was time for one of my old fave's... Beanie and Weenies... I did give it a little twist though... I combined a can of Bush baked beans and a can of Van Camps' Pork and beans then cut up 5 weenies ( your choice,, but I used some from http://www.rogerwoodfoods.com/ a local Georgia favorite.) Then after mixing up real good I mixed in some Cafe Sole Steak Grill spice from http://www.spicehunter.com/... mmm it hit the spot... add some Onion laced Tater Tots... It hit the spot... and didn't cost a lot.

Thanks for your service...

Today marks a new day in history...but a farewell to a family that has given much. It takes a lot to be in the public spotlight...to be the man "responsible" the one to laude when things are great, but adversely they take on a great mantle of responsibility and burden when things aren't going to plan. It doesn't matter if it isn't his fault at all, but when you are the man in charge...YOU are the one to blame. Thank you for your service President Bush. May God keep his hand on your family.

One more day...

Well, has the world changed yet? One more day... I suppose it is a good thing that history will be made in that many biases have been overlooked and that people can look at other qualifications, but I am still not sure that he will be the man for the job. I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, but the jury is still out on some of his other qualifications. I am a bit tired already of the Obama this and Obama that, it seems everything is Obamamania. Is he ever going to show his birth certificate with place of birth on it??? Is the Supreme Court going to require it? What if he really was born in Kenya? Too many questions right now.

Three more days until the view changes

I know how I voted, but I guess I will have to try and support the new ... Make sure you aren't looking at the fluff. Many times what you think you see isn't the reality. Many veneers may be present between you and the actual surface. Many folks think there will be massive change for the better. I will wait and see. I believe in a peaceful society too but sometimes you can't reason with someone who refuses to see your view. Times are tough, and folks , well...standards are not meant to be compromised. Truth and honor must prevail, come what may.

from 1979 to 2009

Wow... just look at how things have changed...in only thirty years... I thought it would be neat to take a look back for a little while. I know time is fleeting, and it seems to go quicker everyday. So here is to a day when things were just a little bit more slow... or so it seemed at the time.
