Ok, back to four wheels.

Now that we have covered the pre-driver's license days...what did you first learn to drive in? Did it have 3 speed or 4 speed or automatic? I learned to use the "3-on-the-tree" column shift on our 1962 Valiant. I dove that car back and forth on our diveway until dad got home then we could take it out on the street. Did you know that early Plymouth's didn't have synchronized first gears. You had to be at a complete stop to put in the first. I remember a lot of grinding. Kind of wish I had a little Valiant about now. ( It had a little 170CI slant six) Easy as heck to work on and lots of room under the hood. Later Dad bought another Valiant much newer with a 225 slant six and automatic. It was ok, but didn't have the personality out first one had. Here's to everyones first driving experiences. :)
