Merry Christmas everyone...

It is OK to say Merry Christmas. It is the season where we remember Christ's birth and the value that God placed on man that we too should value the family of man and our families. God Bless us everyone.

Shekel, Shekel, who's got the...

Tonight as we approach Christmas we went to an event at our church known as "The Journey"... ( http://sccjourney.com/ ) we boarded a boat and went to Bethlehem to pay our taxes and register for the census as dictated by Ceasar Augustus ( Remember the Bible story?) It was really cool ; we all got identities and became members of the 12 different tribes. This year I was an olive farmer/picker from the tribe of Benjamin. We were all given our tolen half shekel to pay the tax when we "arrived in Bethlehem" I believe this gives us a more realistic look at perhaps how things might have been. The Roman guards were even a bit antagonistic to us demonstrating how they looked down on the Jewish people. It was in good fun though. Remember the reason for the season. He was born for us. Jesus would have us to remember this. While we celebrate this year remember those less fortunate. He came for them as well. God Bless and prayers for this holiday season.

Fiesta oh Fiesta

Well the Auto bailout didn't pass...seems too many folks are too greedy... of the three Ford seems to be in the best spot...they still have many good things going for them. I see they have new technology and a real cool plant they just built in Brazil... I am hoping they will sort out their problems and decide to build some cars we can use. I miss my old Fiesta. I bought it when I didn't have a lot of money and needed a really economical and flexible little car. I logged many miles on it and even put a trailer hitch on it for utility. I had many good times in it. I know it was partially a German car and not a true "Ford" but it seems that the auto industry is going to have to compromise and adapt to each others technologies. I ddid see recently that Ford might be bringing back the Fiesta. That would be cool...especially if it gets better than 40 mpg like they are suggesting. I see also it looks a lot like their european "KA" . Looks good to me. I need to get another fuel mizer for when times get hard and fuel jets back up. Will be watching...hmmmmmm.

It ain't 8 dollars yet

I remember just a couple of months ago watching the price of gas skyrocketing...now it is as low as it has been in probably five years. Yeah for us...today I saw $1.51...a lot better than when I freaked after seeing a sign with $8.57 for 9/10 regular unleaded ( even with "up to 10% ethanol ) wow... I know a little alcohol helps keep my fuel dry of water but too much ain't good for seals and my old Maxima really didn't run as well with ethanol in it and my old Impulse really ran like crap whenever I put any gas in it that had alcohol in it. Exploring around in my V-8 it ain't too bad today. Just glad it ain't gone up to 8 dollars. I will have to get new walking shoes then... Enjoy the prices... :)

And now for something totally different..

Ain't that just ducky??? I seem to have misplaced my thumbdrive. If I had one of these I think it might be easier to find. Where to put it when I am not using it might be awkward... hm.... maybe I could combine it with the "clapper" and it would quack at me when I clapped...lol :)

Blue and Orange now blue.....

I have been an Auburn fan since about 1970, ( except for a couple years for Tennessee when Condredge Holloway Jr. played ) and they have been up and down ( see stats... http://www.aurx.net/auburn4.html ) but they have always produced excellent Tailbacks and Fullbacks, and their defense has always been ranked. Boy oho Boy have colleges become fickle in the new days. For the last six years Auburn has ranked and also beaten Alabama, and until this year Alabama had never won against Auburn at Bryant-Denny in Tuscaloosa. That is quite a record... now I will admit that this years blowout was not what I would like to have seen but Tuberville has a set of skills and the ability to bring Auburn about. There has to be more to it behind the scenes. Football has always been BIG in the great state of Alabama but now that the other school has decided to pay its coach $40Million what are the other coaches who make much much less supposed to do. Tuberville's buyout at less than $6million is way less. I may have to retire my Auburn fan'ness for a while. I hate the thought of having to swithch allegiences but I do like Georgia too, and I like the Dooleys, and Mark Richt. We will just have to wait and see. War Eagle...maybe.

It doesn't last forever.

Well, I guess the reign couldn't last forever but it was fun while it lasted. Now my wife is happy... the Tide has risen again...she thinks it is the second coming of the Bear...but I just think the giant is sleeping. After all six in a row now we need a rest and a chance to regroup. The SEC is a tough conference, and has always been. Congrats to the Bama folks but hey Tigers will be back...WAR EAGLE !!! ... http://auburntigers.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/aub-m-footbl-body.html
